A likely combination….grey on grey on grey. Same color, but different shades! In my eyes there is never too much grey. It has become my go to color, because it can be paired with just about everything. Monochromatic grey looks are fresh and contemporary for fall. This grey sweater dress is a versatile staple that can be worn several different ways, along with this grey duster coat that I found at Zara! I am all about mixing classic staples with modern pieces to achieve an effortlessly elevated look.
The laced up detail is one of my fall must haves! This subtly sexy trend has been seen on countless of runways, like the amazing Isabel Marant. She is famous for seamlessly incorporating this flirty accent into an oversized knit. It’s safe to say that I am obsessed with this laced up army green sweater as it can effortlessly be styled several different ways. I wanted to play with textures and silhouettes so I paired this sweater with a suede skirt and thigh high boots. I liked the contrast between the oversized knit and the fitted suede skirt. I decided to tuck the sweater into the skirt to create more of cinched in and defined waist. It also created a more seamless final look. I accessorized with my gorgeous new Daniel Wellington watch, which is from there new Classic Black collection, and their delicate rose golf cuff. The minimal all black face and the rose gold accents tied in with the look so perfectly!
It was no question that my thigh high boots were going to take this look up a notch. Every year, the over-the-knee boot continues to be another must have trend and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. They are such a versatile boot that can be worn with a variety of different pieces. If you’ve been following my blog for the past 2 years, you know my obsession with OTK boots is serious. I am almost considering adding a new pair to my collection this fall….any thoughts?
It’s not news that the 60’s and 70’s have made a serious comeback. But, there is no need to go digging for retro silhouettes to get in on this trend. My way of incorporating these throwback trends into my wardrobe is by introducing some of the old school fabrics, like my all time favorite – corduroy. It’s back and I’m obsessed. The modern silhouette of the cord dress, but in this oh so 70’s fabric, gives that vintage cool girl feel. If you’re looking for an easy way to add some cord into your life, this dress would be the perfect place to start. The dark navy blue corduroy is a subtle statement and perfect for transitioning into that cooler fall weather. I decided to style this shift dress with a tissue thin turtleneck tucked beneath the dress to add another dimension. I liked the contrast in colors and how the stark white turtleneck made the texture and color of the corduroy really stand out. I can’t wait to style this piece with an off-the-shoulder top that has a delicate bell sleeve! Either way, you cant go wrong….both effortlessly cool, comfortable and will keep you warm during this Fall.
I hope I helped you consider working some corduroy into your fall wardrobe!
Happy Tuesday! I am here to introduce to you one of falls biggest trends in the world of shoes– velvet. I have such a special place in my heart for this smooth luxurious fabric. As a kid, I always remember wearing my favorite pair of velvet wide leg pants, my little velvet ballet flats and how could I forget the oversized black velvet bow that I wore in my hair constantly (I thank my mom for that)! It always made me feel so special and dressed up and to this day, it gives me that same feeling.
Whether it’s a velvet bow, or in this case a velvety ankle boot, the velvet accessory is already proving to be this seasons closet staple. I found these soft velvet ankle boots at Club Monaco over the weekend and I fell in love with the deep navy blue color. They are unlike any of the boots that I had previously been looking for online! The matte blue velvet gives an effortless feel, while still speaking to the show stopping velvet trend. I am sure that I will be getting some definite use out of this style and color this Fall!
I hope you enjoyed this post! This post just reminds me of how much I love fall and winter dressing. I can’t wait for the light layers and finding some new velvet accessories!
Taking a break from distressed denim and stepping back into something a bit more elevated today. These classic white pants have been a staple in my wardrobe for a while now. I snagged this ruffley flutter-sleeve sweater from the Urban Outfitters sale last week, and I had every intention of pairing these two pieces together. You know that satisfying feeling of once envisioning two pieces working so well together, and then finally paring them up and having it look even better than expected? That was me with this look. It’s always nice to get dressed up and leave the t-shirts and ripped denim at home. Helloooo refreshing white trousers and not so ordinary short sleeve knit.
I love the cropped fit of the sweater, with the wide leg pants! The movement of these Nicole Miller pants, just gets me every time. Other ideas or pairings for this top…high waisted, wide legged denim or black denim. A flirty knit with sleek denim…yea that works.
Happy Tuesday! Hope you guys are having a great week so far. I’m excited to share this look that we shot in Soho last week, right before the heat wave hit NYC. If you aren’t in NY and haven’t experienced the heat, let me tell you….its on a new level. It feels like your walking around in dessert heat! It seems like its dying down today, which means that I can get back to wearing lighter denim, like my new favorite A Gold E pair that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I am starting to curate different pieces for fall and I am specifically looking at denim for fall.
Cropped flares are definitely at the top of my list for one of the must have styles to have for his upcoming season – along with raw hems & high-rise fits. Flared denim is back and better than ever. The cropped fit comes with a variety of benefits, like being able to show off your cute shoes and being very figure flattering. I recommend finding a pair that hits right above the ankle for this particular style of denim, because it helps to create a longer look. This pair of A Gold E denim combines the cropped flared silhouette with the distressed hem and high-rise fit – which I absolutely love. The cropped flared style tend to be high rise as well, so I decided to knot my button down to break up the look and show off the styles figure flattering waist. I chose to accessorize with my favorite Mango block heel and my new weaved saddle cross body bag from Deux Lux! Thank you Dex Lux for sending me this gorgeous handbag! I absolutely love the color of the light brown suede is so versatile.
I hope you enjoyed this post! I can’t believe the summer is almost over, but I’m going to try and make the most of the rest of August! Do you guys have any fun last minute summer plans?
