Taking a break from distressed denim and stepping back into something a bit more elevated today. These classic white pants have been a staple in my wardrobe for a while now. I snagged this ruffley flutter-sleeve sweater from the Urban Outfitters sale last week, and I had every intention of pairing these two pieces together. You know that satisfying feeling of once envisioning two pieces working so well together, and then finally paring them up and having it look even better than expected? That was me with this look. It’s always nice to get dressed up and leave the t-shirts and ripped denim at home. Helloooo refreshing white trousers and not so ordinary short sleeve knit.
I love the cropped fit of the sweater, with the wide leg pants! The movement of these Nicole Miller pants, just gets me every time. Other ideas or pairings for this top…high waisted, wide legged denim or black denim. A flirty knit with sleek denim…yea that works.
Happy Tuesday! Hope you guys are having a great week so far. I’m excited to share this look that we shot in Soho last week, right before the heat wave hit NYC. If you aren’t in NY and haven’t experienced the heat, let me tell you….its on a new level. It feels like your walking around in dessert heat! It seems like its dying down today, which means that I can get back to wearing lighter denim, like my new favorite A Gold E pair that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I am starting to curate different pieces for fall and I am specifically looking at denim for fall.
Cropped flares are definitely at the top of my list for one of the must have styles to have for his upcoming season – along with raw hems & high-rise fits. Flared denim is back and better than ever. The cropped fit comes with a variety of benefits, like being able to show off your cute shoes and being very figure flattering. I recommend finding a pair that hits right above the ankle for this particular style of denim, because it helps to create a longer look. This pair of A Gold E denim combines the cropped flared silhouette with the distressed hem and high-rise fit – which I absolutely love. The cropped flared style tend to be high rise as well, so I decided to knot my button down to break up the look and show off the styles figure flattering waist. I chose to accessorize with my favorite Mango block heel and my new weaved saddle cross body bag from Deux Lux! Thank you Dex Lux for sending me this gorgeous handbag! I absolutely love the color of the light brown suede is so versatile.
I hope you enjoyed this post! I can’t believe the summer is almost over, but I’m going to try and make the most of the rest of August! Do you guys have any fun last minute summer plans?
To me, everything about this top is perfect….the flowing white chiffon, the crochet and lace at the neckline, but the real show stopper are those angelic bell sleeves!!! I mean look at them, aren’t you just as in love as I am? This gorgeous top, along with this slit maxi skirt, were items I recently purchased on Nasty Gal. NastyGal.com is always one of my go-to online shopping destinations, because I can find really unique pieces at affordable prices.
I really love mixture patterns and textures, because it is a great way to add variety to your looks, while offering a hint of depth to the overall outfit. The print of the skirt compliments the print/texture of the crochet and lace detailing on the tops sleeves and neckline. The patterns work together, rather than fight against each other, which is an important aspect to keep in mind when playing with different prints. If I want to go more casual and make the top the main focal point of the look, a simple pair of cut-off jean shorts and white sneakers would be a really cute summer day look! The top is fun, flirty and will bring out your summer glow (white + sun kissed skin = magic haha)! I really hope you enjoyed this look and I wish you all a very happy weekend!!
Wearing: Nicole Miller Bali Cold Shoulder Schuler | Lou & Grey Linen Shorts |Stuart Weitzman Sandals
Happy Tuesday Everyone! Last month I was so fortunate to visit the Nicole Miller showroom to take a look at their new Resort 2016 Collection (which I am absolutely obsessed with!) I also had the opportunity to pull some pieces from different collections, to create some summer content for you guys!
While in the Nicole Miller NYC showroom, I fell in love with this Bali Cold Shoulder Schuler Blouse at first sight. The beautiful pops of color, the unique paisley print and the off-the-shoulder draped bell sleeves gave me such an effortlessly modern boho feel. What I love so much about this top, and many of Nicole Miller’s tops, are their versatility. I styled this top with a simple pair of Lou & Grey white linen shorts, but a pair of denim shorts would also be perfect for a daytime look. I could easily transition this top into an evening look with a high-rise pair of denim or even a flowing white skirt. The ultimate goal is to have pieces in your closet where you can create multiple outfits from just one piece, and this Nicole Miller blouse is definitely one of those key pieces to have in your wardrobe. The perfect print, off-the-shoulder detailing and a beautiful neckline to show off that summer glow? I have a feeling this is going to be a pretty popular piece in my summer closet…
Wearing: Nicole Miller Trim Silk Cold Should Top| 3×1 Fringed Denim | Nasty Gal Sandals
Classic Combo – Nicole Miller
There isn’t a better combination than a silky white button down and a pair of great fitting denim. Today, I’m changing things up and adding an elevated twist to this classic combo.
The cold shoulder trend is here to stay and Nicole Miller has created the perfect white blouse that features this ultimate summer trend. Their modern take on a classic silhouette is simply gorgeous, to say the least. This Trim Silk Cold Shoulder Top is cool, classic and could easily fit just about any personal style. The trim detailing creates a dressier feel, while the flouncy un-even hem adds a touch of playfulness and allows the piece to work casually as well. I’m not one for tucking in, as it can sometimes create a really “buttoned up” and stiff look. So, the uneven silhouette is an effortless dream for me…and it shows a little bit of skin, which I love during the summer!
I am always on the hunt for unique, yet wearable denim pieces that I can easily incorporate into my denim arsenal. Your denim drawer can always use a refresh. Right? What I’ve been loving for denim recently are a raw hem, undone hem, and especially a frayed hem! These 3×1 Fringe Jeans have made there way into my life and I could not be more thrilled. The fit, wash and added fringe detail adds a subtle and interesting statement, to yet another classic piece. The undone or fringed hem is another trend that I think everyone should try. The only problem is, once you start, you might not be able to stop….take it from me haha!
I always enjoy taking classic pairings and finding ways to spice them up! Don’t get me wrong – a simple white button down and a pair of denim is one of the greatest parings ever created. But if you’re looking for versions of these wardrobe essentials that will really stand out…I have the answer to your search!
I hope you all enjoyed this post and I wish you a very happy Friday!
Happy Tuesday everyone! I am so excited to share this post with you guys. This weekend, I worked with Lou & Grey to do a takeover on the @louandgrey snapchat. Coast by Coast and Lou & Grey are traveling across the country with the Coast by Coast mobile boutique to bring you in-store events and outdoor pop-ups! The pop-up vintage VW bus was parked at Diviera Drive NYC in Williamsburg all weekend from 11-6pm. Lou and Grey and I thought it would be fun if I positioned my takeover as “A Day in Williamsburg”, where I ventured to my favorite spots around Brooklyn and showed their followers the atmosphere surrounding Diviera Drive! I eventually made my way to the Coast by Coast bus and checked out their amazing swimwear and accessories, and of course the new summer arrivals from Lou & Grey.
This Lou & Grey stripped summer sweatshirt dress was the perfect piece for my day in Williamsburg. The stripped style is super laid back and the terry material is extremely soft and comfortable. I love effortlessly stylish, yet comfortable pieces, and Lou & Grey has the perfect essentials for just that. I paired the dress with a simple pair of white sneakers and a vintage denim jacket over top. Silver and black sunglasses and a choker dressed up the look and added a little bit of edge to the simple silhouette of the dress!
I had such a wonderful time taking over the Lou & Grey snapchat and getting to explore Williamsburg! Be sure to add @louandgrey and @livforluxury on snapchat if you haven’t already.
