 Newport, RI

My family and I first started traveling to Newport, Rhode Island in 2000 when I was around 5 years old. This was long before the days of Instagram, Twitter, and Liv For Luxury for that matter. We started vacationing to RI when our very close family friends moved to Newport. To this day, Rhode Island is still one of my favorite places I’ve ever traveled. The scenic views from the famous “Cliff Walk,” the beautiful beaches, mansion tours, the charming town with interesting shops and restaurants, the picturesque Newport Marina, and my favorite -Sweetberry Farm. Some of my fondest memories are from trips to Rhode Island. Every time we visit I’m instantly transported back to those feelings of being a little girl and holding my dad’s hand as we walked in to town to explore all the unique stores in the town of Newport. I can also remember going to the beach and getting a famous Frozen Del’s Lemonade from the Del’s Truck that was parked in the beach parking lot 24/7. There is something about Newport that is nostalgic, calming, peaceful and puts me at ease. Nothing beats watching the sun set over the harbor.

Fast forward to 17 years later, and I still enjoy visiting RI with my family. We still keep in contact with our close family friends and visit them every chance we get…and have plans to see them this weekend! So, in honor of my trip, I put together a packing list– some of which I have and some of which I am currently coveting – all inspired by the beachy laid back vibes of RI. My suitcase is filled with light linens and cotton, a few bikinis, and of course an array of neutral shades – especially blue and white.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! You can shop some more Rhode Island Inspo below:
