If I had to choose my favorite animal print, cheetah would be at the top of my list. It’s versatile, fun, and has totally made a comeback as today’s newest neutral. It’s this season’s must-have print. When you combine this print with the sleek construction of a power suit, you have achieved the ultimate look for this Fall’s printed power suiting trend. Liv Micheli is in Greenwich, CT wearing the Frame Cheetah Velveteen Classic Blazer, Frame Cheetah Velveteen Flare pants, Are You Am I Ling Top, Vintage Gold Mesh Belt from Etsy, and Public Desire Velvet boots. Women’s pantsuits have come a long way since Yves Saint Laurent designed the first of its kind – the Le Smoking tuxedo suit in 1966. Since then, the matching separates have been reimagined in modern silhouettes, bright hues, and fierce prints. Taking notes from the early-90’s minimalistic power suits, Frame has created a modern iteration of the cheetah power suit. When I saw Frame’s Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear, I loved the textured outerwear and velvet suiting, as they were unlike anything that I have seen from the brand.Liv Micheli is in Greenwich, CT wearing the Frame Cheetah Velveteen Classic Blazer, Frame Cheetah Velveteen Flare pants, Are You Am I Ling Top, Vintage Gold Mesh Belt from Etsy, and Public Desire Velvet boots. I remember my first cheetah print piece. I was five and it was a furry oversized cheetah jacket, from a store called Talbots and it was all I wore. No matter what, that little cheetah print jacket was all I wanted to wear because even at five, those spots made me feel powerful and very in style! I still have that jacket, but I thought it was time for an upgrade.Liv Micheli is in Greenwich, CT wearing the Frame Cheetah Velveteen Classic Blazer, Frame Cheetah Velveteen Flare pants, Are You Am I Ling Top, Vintage Gold Mesh Belt from Etsy, and Public Desire Velvet boots. This velvety cheetah blazer is tailored with a slim classic silhouette but takes on a more exotic look with a bold cheetah print. When I first slipped it on, I instantly loved the fit, length and the padded shoulders, which gives the body definition and a more feminine look.

When I tell you that these pants fit me like I a glove, I mean that I haven’t found a pair of cropped flared pants quite like these. Whenever I try cropped flared pants, they always end up being too cropped. I am 5’9”, so cropped usually means ‘capri’ pants for me. But that was not the case for this particular pair from Frame. The cropped length is perfect and the positioning of the flare is extremely flattering on the leg. This silhouette sits high on the waist, which you know I love, and the soft velvety fabric makes them extremely comfortable, with a bit of stretch. These pants are unlike anything I’ve seen from Frame, and I literally want this style in every color, fabric, and print because they are really that good.

I initially tried on the look with a simple white t-shirt, which gave it a more effortless and casual feel. But when I first saw this suit, I always envisioned styling it with something unexpected, like a one-shoulder top. The asymmetrical hint of skin at the top and the cropped midriff is very modern and helps to break up the all cheetah suit. I like how these pants feature belt loops, and a vintage gold mesh belt paired perfectly with the overall look. The gold belt compliments the golden yellow tones running through the print, without overpowering it. Velvet sock boots helped to create a streamlined and polished look, as the only hint of skin comes from the one shoulder top.Liv Micheli is in Greenwich, CT wearing the Frame Cheetah Velveteen Classic Blazer, Frame Cheetah Velveteen Flare pants, Are You Am I Ling Top, Vintage Gold Mesh Belt from Etsy, and Public Desire Velvet boots. Whether you’re thinking of wearing the suit together, or each piece separately, you can’t go wrong. You can style the jacket with a simple pair of Frame denim and heels. These cheetah pants would look edgy with a cool vintage tee and boots or for a more sleek look, a turtleneck and loafers will give you that model off-duty look. Regardless, you will without a doubt have a polished and powerful look that will show stop.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! You can shop this look and similar items below!

Anthropologie Collard Cardigan | Are You Am I Bodysuit (similar hereherehere)  | Mango Checked Trousers | Ralph Lauren Collection Pumps (s/o, similar here & here)

If there is one thing that I am excited about for this fall season, it’s fall style and the abundance of luxe fabrics and layering that comes with the territory for when temperatures begin to drop (whenever that may be in NYC…). The textures and fabrics for fall, like chunky wool knits and wide checked patterns, are a lot more luxurious compared to the light cotton and linen pieces that I was sporting all summer. Since the weather is still unsure of itself this month and we are still in between the stages of summer and fall, I am still wearing mostly lightweight pieces, but mixing in layering pieces and fabrics that add a touch of luxe.

were one of the first pieces that I bought this season. I knew that I was looking for a pant that had a straight leg, high waisted, paper bag silhouette, as menswear inspired pieces are a must this season. I instantly loved this subtle black, brown, white and maroon print, with the oversized, yet muted belt detailing on these pants. These tones ooze luxury for me, especially going into the cooler months. The fit and structure of these pants are very feminine, especially because of where the sit on the waist and the perfectly cropped hemline. These trousers also have a matching blazer and vest, if you want to take the power suit trend to the next level. Mango has been my go-to for menswear inspired suiting, as the fit and quality is always spot on.And speaking of textures, I couldn’t resist this chunky collard cardigan (wow is that a mouth full) that I purchased from Anthropologie. The creamy ivory color of the sweater pairs perfectly with the neutral brown tones running through the trouser. The contrasting knit detailing between the bodice of the sweater to the dolman sleeves, is what I immediately fell in love with. I can see myself styling this cardigan with so many different looks, like a dusty rose silk cami and jeans, or over a knit dress. The best part is this cardigan is now on sale! When It comes to putting outfits together, I really like mixing fabrics and textures, as it gives the look more dimension and interest, and this textured cardigan was the perfect layering piece for this look.Depending on the weather, this look could easily be worn with or without a layering piece, and these trousers can be dressed down with a tee and sneakers. Something I think about when purchasing new pieces for fall is if the pieces have versatility, and if I will be able to style them in various ways. If they check that box, then I am basically sold! I finished off the look with a very modern straight neck bodysuit, a neutral brown suede heel and cat eye sunglasses (that were only $16!). The cat eye shape is so popular right now and this slim retro frame and brownish/black color was such a good find!

I hope you enjoyed my first fall look of the season! Let me know what your favorite Fall pieces are so far!

Love,

Liv xx

Urban Outfitters Jumpsuit (burgundy version) | Project Social T Tee | Ivanka Trump Heels

I love a good jumpsuit and totally fell in love with this black pinstriped wide leg buckled number that I recently picked up online at Urban Outfitters. When I first saw it, I thought it was a unique piece and nothing like any of the jumpsuits that I currently have in my wardrobe. The menswear-inspired piece with a classic coverall silhouette instantly gave me a more casual vibe compared to the classic black jumpsuits that I normally gravitate towards. I pictured styling this piece with a tiny white tee when I first came across it, for an added element that is unexpected and interesting. Project Social T has truly mastered to art of the perfect white tee and I have been wearing their Tiny T on repeat all summer. I love that very relaxed, yet chic look of layering a white tee or knit with a  slinky camisole or slip dress on top. Why do I love it? Not only does it extend the life of my warm-weather pieces, like this jumpsuit, but it also opens up a whole slew of combinations that you may have never thought of before.

This jumpsuit is so incredibly faltering with the buckled detailing that actually helps to cinch in your waist and create a more hourglass shape, as opposed to a straighter fit. I am also all about the wide-leg cropped pant style at the moment. The key to pulling off this piece is to pair it with heels (or a white sneaker) and have it be more fitted on top, by utilizing those buckles! I plan to wear this with & without the tiny white tee underneath and swap out the heels for boots. This piece would also look great with a cropped leather jacket! Hmmmm makes me think I should look for some more outerwear?! You can never have enough, am I right?!Liv Micheli is standing underneath the Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo Brooklyn, wearing a Silence + Noise Jumpsuit from Urban Outfitters, a Project Social T Tiny Tee and a pair of Ivanka Trump Klover Heels.

Urban Outfitters has a few other jumpsuits that are all classic staples and would make a perfect one-piece outfit. A jumpsuit has never failed me when I am in a pinch and need something that is flattering, simple and makes me look and feel good! And if you are looking for a few budget-friendly options, this one, this one, and this one are all under $100!

The Shopbop Sale Event is honestly one of my favorite sales of the season. It’s one of the few times during the year where you can purchase new arrivals at a discounted price and the best part is, if you buy more, you save more! I’ve rounded up the deets and some of my favorite Fall picks from the Shopbop Sale! Use the code EOTS17 to get 20% off orders under $500 or 25% off orders of $500 or more! The sale is only happening through this Friday, so you better start shopping!!

JACKETS & BLAZERS: For me, this fall is all about power pieces, denim, faux fur and neutral wool outerwear. Leopard print and pops of red are definitely having a moment this season, so I was sure to include some statement pieces in the lineup.

SWEATERS & TOPS: Sweater weather is quickly approaching and I intend on having a rotation of cozy sweaters on deck. I also really love the look of layering a cropped hoodie underneath a slightly oversized blazer.

BOTTOMS: It’s important to have those key bottoms in your wardrobe, like a classic pair of straight leg black denim and a textured pair of light washed denim. These pieces are easy to style, super comfortable and honestly, you can never have enough denim. And, for times when you want to change things up, I’ve included a few fashion bottoms that I have been eyeing…especially those Frame cheetah print pants!

BOOTS & FLATS: Boots, mules, slides, loafers, and repeat. This is the rotation that’s happening in my wardrobe right now. A classic wear-with-all boot is a necessity this fall, along with a fun pair of slides, like these mustard satin slippers from Club Monaco. I love them because of they’re comfortable and elevate your look in seconds. Also, I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on those Stuart Weitzman white Clinger boots, because I keep subconsciously styling looks around them in my head. I think that means it’s time to just buy them, right? I mean, they are 25% off!

I hope you enjoyed my selections and let me if and what you picked up from the Shopbop Sale! Happy Shopping!
Love,
Liv

One of my favorite things about the seasons changing is that you get to incorporate new styles into your wardrobe and try different silhouettes to mix things up. Yes, I know grabbing your favorite pair of denim is always an easy transitional style and a sure fire way to get that laid-back effortless vibe, without compromising comfort. But, what if I told you that you could achieve that same laid-back vibe, and even look a bit more elevated? Introducing the relaxed fit trouser, which is one of my favorite pieces for fall. It’s an easy breezy silhouette to take you from summer to fall in a second. You may notice this look from one of my NYFW outfits on Instagram this past week and for me, it was all about the trouser this season. I incorporated the trouser, with varying silhouettes, in a few of my looks last week, but there was just something about this particular look that I loved. Maybe it was because these trousers gave a more street style vibe, rather than a smart and tailored feel. It’s safe to say that I can’t get enough of this combo and each piece on its own. There are so many ways to wear each one, but this look has to be my favorite way to style them both.Liv Micheli sitting in SoHo wearing OFF WHITE c/o Virgil Abloh x Warby Parker Medium sunglasses, Urban Outfitters Roll neck Cropped Sweater, Silence + NoiseRelaxed-Fit trousers and Kenneth Cole boots.Liv Micheli standing in the streets of SoHo wearing OFF WHITE c/o Virgil Abloh x Warby Parker Medium sunglasses, Urban Outfitters Roll Kneck Cropped Sweater, Silence + Noise Relaxed-Fit trousers and Kenneth Cole boots.Liv Micheli standing in the streets of SoHo wearing OFF WHITE c/o Virgil Abloh x Warby Parker Medium sunglasses, Urban Outfitters Roll neck Cropped Sweater, Silence + Noise Relaxed-Fit trousers and Kenneth Cole boots.

So let’s talk relaxed-fitting trousers, shall we? When shopping for a relaxed silhouette, I look for a few key features. Firstly, I look for a high-rise construction, as this will help to make this silhouette the most flattering. A high-waist helps to accentuate the smallest part of your waist, and create the appearance of longer legs, which who doesn’t want? Secondly, I look for relaxed trousers that fit through the hip and then down to a slightly tapered ankle. This will help to give you more of a shape, rather than looking like you’re 1). Pear-shaped and 2). wearing your grandpa’s oversized trousers, which we don’t want (sorry grandpa). This oversized, relaxed fitting bottom trend was all over NYFW and one of the staple model off duty looks.

I recommend styling a relaxed fitting bottom with something that is cropped, to help show off the high waisted fit, and again, the smallest part of your waist. You can also wear a fitted white t-shirt or cropped white LS shirt tucked in, to show off your figure a bit more. It is important to compliment a baggier silhouette with either something that is a little more fitted or even play on the baggy silhouette with something that is cropped and slightly more loose fitting. Try out different silhouettes and find a style that helps compliment the trouser rather than fight against it…in other words, let the pants be the main focal point of the look. For me, I wanted to show off a bit of midriff, but also play on the baggier vibes. I incorporated this roll-neck cropped sweater that had a more fitted waist and a bigger statement sleeve. This was such a cute transitional find that I’ve been wearing with high-waisted denim, trousers, and skirts. I hope I encouraged you to try out this relaxed silhouette! Liv Micheli rounds up the 10 best Labor Day sales to shop this weekend. She features her new favorite pair of club monaco black heels.

Seriously, where did this summer go? I can’t and refuse to believe that it is already Labor Day Weekend. If feels like just yesterday that I was gearing up for my college graduation and planning a few weekend getaways. But, when the temperatures begin to cool off and you start adding ‘chunky knits’ into your online shopping carts (like I just did this morning!), you know it’s real. This time of year also means that there will be some amazing Labor Day sales to shop.

Normally at this time of the year, my feelings about the upcoming weeks would be very different. I would have felt a wave of sadness (that my free time was now ripped from me) and stress comes over my body, as I would normally be anticipating another school year and another semester of college. But this year is very different. This was the first summer in a long time where I could just take a breather from the thoughts of planning the perfect college schedule, making sure that I was fulfilling all of my course requirements and sitting in a college classroom for hours upon hours a day. No, not this year. This year is now the time that I can focus on my business, my blog, explore my passions and hopefully attend more NYFW events! In the past, I was never able to attend most of the shows that I was so fortunate enough to be invited to because my college schedule would always somehow get in the way. I am excited for this new chapter in my life and I still can’t believe it’s finally here. I worked insanely hard during my 4 years at Fordham University and balancing my classes and Liv For Luxury was not a walk in the park. I am proud of my accomplishments and graduating as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and receiving Magna Cum Laude is something that will always remind me of my hard work at Fordham.
But enough about me, back to the Labor Day weekend sales! There are some really good ones this year and I decided to round up my favorites below! I hope everyone has a happy Labor Day and enjoys the long weekend!
Happy Shopping!
Love,
Liv
